Overview

Most construction sites are fraught with problems that only become known after demolition has begun. This is because many problems are hiding behind walls and barriers that are not visible to the naked eye. For example, demolition work that damages existing utilities can be costly, while driving a drill bit into a live electrical line can be deadly.

Walleye Technologies’ Scanning Millimeter Wave™ (SMW) Imager is the first practical high resolution, through-wall imaging system that uses backscattered radiation to form images, just like the backscattered light from a camera flash. The live image on the display screen shows users exactly what and where plumbing, electrical lines and stud elements are located, so they can drill safely and open walls to make changes and repairs without damaging utilities, electrical wires, water pipes and the like.
