SOMERVILLE, Mass. — April 11, 2008 — Walleye™ Technologies and TechRoadmapSM Inc. have formed an alliance to create a broad patent portfolio covering Walleye's proprietary millimeter wave imaging technology. Walleye has developed a next-generation, hand-held, portable camera capable of "seeing" into and through solid objects.
The Walleye camera is a patent-pending technology platform to generate high-quality digital images that are readily displayed, stored, analyzed, and transmitted. Instead of visible light, the Walleye camera uses invisible wavelengths called millimeter waves to see into and through objects. The first prototype of the Walleye camera has been developed for the consumer home repair market and the platform nature of the Walleye millimeter wave imaging technology lends itself to a series of innovative products with significantly competitive price/performance advantages.
TechRoadmap is a leading Intellectual Property development company. The Walleye platform represents multiple innovations that can be protected with US and foreign patents. "The Walleye millimeter wave imaging and sensing technology is disruptive to the targeted markets and we are developing and executing an IP strategy to maximize its value", says Dr. Bruce Horwitz, President of TechRoadmap.
"The partnership with TechRoadmap and Dr. Horwitz will allow Walleye to protect and create value for its class-leading millimeter wave imaging and sensing technologies. Our intellectual property estate has already resulted in significant commercial partnering and product opportunities" said David Holbrook, Walleye CTO. The Walleye Imaging System has applications across a diversity of markets, including, consumer (home repair and construction), security and medical applications. Walleye Technologies' business model is to partner with leading manufacturing, marketing and sales organizations in the targeted markets.
